Rodent Guard is designed for ease of application by both the professionals and DIY RV owners. Application directions can be followed to protect your asset without any previous experience in undercarriage coating application.
For effective spray of the coating, you will need a High Velocity Low Pressure (HVLP) spray gun and an air compressor to provide air to the spray gun.
You'll also benefit from a few rags for clean-ups and 2 or 3 grocery plastic bags to cover valve handles and fittings under the RV from being sprayed.
It does not!
Rodent Guard base is made of non-evaporating synthetic mineral oils. Additives and repellent agents are mechanically blended into the base and trapped within the long polymer chains of the product for indefinite preservation. This means a single application of coating will effectively protect an RV from rodent access for as long as it is placed in storage.
If your RV is sitting in storage, there's no reason to re-apply the coating. Once taken on the road however, dirt and moisture from the road surface will gradually remove and degrade the coating effectiveness. Rodent Guard recommends annual re-application just before seasonal storage.
Rodent Guard is entirely non-toxic to humans and pets alike. Pets will not appreciate the bitter taste of Rodent Guard if curiosity leads them to try it out.
Rodent Guard is formulated to deter and repel the Rodentia order of mammals that include mice, squirrels, rats, prairie dogs, voles, etc. The lubricating properties of the coating will also hinder crawling insects ability to traverse the undercarriage and gain access to the RV interior.
Rodent Guard gives off a faint peppermint scent during application, but the smell will be reduced within hours and become undetectable after 24 hours of coating.
Rodent Guard can be applied at any time of the year but the ideal application period is in mid-late fall as part of your annual winterization just before the RV is put in seasonal storage
No. Once a surface a uniformly coated, there's little benefit in over application. Excessive coating will waste the product and result in dripping off saturated surfaces
A paint brush can technically be used to apply the coating, however it makes for a cumbersome and messy application process to ensure all nooks and crevices are properly covered.
If you own a pneumatic or electrical High Velocity Low Pressure (HVLP) spray gun, you may use that to apply the coating but the spray pattern may not be as good as a long barrel spray gun that is meant for viscous solution spraying. Rodent Guard sells specially designed long barrel spray guns for optimal coating application.
There's no need for that. As long as there are no visible chunks of dirt stuck to the undercarriage, chassis beams, and axel(s), the product can be applied directly over dusty surfaces.
Yes. Underlaying moisture does not impact adhesion or effectiveness of Rodent Guard
It does not. Rodent Guard deters rodents from accessing the undercarriage of RV and repels those bold enough to overcome the deterrence and try gnawing their way in. Mice and other rodents that have gotten into the RV prior to coating are not affected by the external protection and must be trapped and removed from inside the vehicle.
No. Rodent Guard can be sprayed at any temperature. The solution becomes more viscous in colder temperatures and requires higher air pressure to spray out.
It does not! Unused solution can be stored indefinitely for future application.
